Common questions

How do I restore my subscription?

New phone or reinstalled the app? Open the subscription screen (Settings → SUBSCRIBE, or when the free captures run out) and tap RESTORE PURCHASES while signed in to the same Apple Account you subscribed with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancel through Apple: on your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Longbox, or tap MANAGE in Longbox Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel it. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I turn AI processing on or off?

Longbox only sends comic photos and details to AI (Anthropic's Claude, through our server) after you agree. Change it anytime in Settings → AI processing. With it off you can still capture; photos wait on your device until you turn it back on. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

A comic was identified wrong.

AI can miss, especially with variants, reprints, and glare. Open the book and edit any field (title, issue, year, variant). For wish-list books, use Change cover to pick a different listing photo. Re-shooting flat and well-lit usually helps.

Where is my collection stored? How do I back it up?

On your iPhone. There's no account and no cloud copy. Use Settings → Export to save a ZIP or JSON backup, and import it on a new device.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app (or its data) and your collection is gone for good. Our server keeps no account, photos, or collection. The only thing stored is an anonymous usage count for the free and fair-use limits; we can delete it on request.
